You have to have some sympathy for the NRA. On the one hand, they are genetically mandated to oppose all forms of gun control. On the other hand, the gun manufacturers they represent would be really pissed if the 3D Print technology gets advanced enough to enable too many people to make their own.

Actually, the Democrats voted to support the President based on the intelligence that was carefully selected and fed to them by Bush/Cheney. They did not have the abilityto challenge it and they assumed (wrongly) that the President would not lie about something of this nature.
